On August 6 is celebrated the Transfiguration of Christ or the feast of the Lord Christ as is known in Crete where is a custom in the holy service to bring for blessing the first grapes. In the village Agios Spyridonas in the banks of Pantelianos river is the chapel of Lord Christ dating from the Venetian era which like thousands of others was restored after the liberation from Turkish yoke. Until the early 70's was held a great festival which continued throughout the day more below in the area "To Fygetos Mill" and later the party continued all night in the two cafes of the village. Now everything is a memory and only the holy service is held. Here's a fantastic imaging of the service.
